| 2000 Ford Excursion Limited 5.4L Poor Idle Quality, Hesitation, Surge, Misfire, Poor Fuel Economy VIN: 1FMNU43L3Y Douglass pointed me in the right direction here. The misfire here is a timing issue, at 1400 rpm, the timing is at 38 degrees, as soon as I go to 1500 rpm or higher, the timing retards to 32 degrees.
