I just wanted to give some reply to you. I was curious also so I went and disconnected the Crankshaft sensor on a 1999 Sienna (1MZ-FE) and a 2005 Tacoma (1GR-FE) and neither would start. Also the RPM data read 0 RPM and never changed. HTH
