PCV hoses may be deteriorated and collasping or cause vacuum leak, especially on higher mileage engines. Seen lots on 5.4's and 4.6's. Also, use OEM PCV valve. I also agree cold engine, short trips, infrequent oil changes may be a primary cause, as may too coo... Login to read more.
