The old VW 6 volt reg is good to 40 amps if I recall. Definately will handle 30. It has a B+, Field and D+ the field goes to ground to energize the windings. D+ is gen output and of course B+ is straight to battery. They can be adjusted also for an 8V battery.... Login to read more.
