old car runs too hot!

This 1956 Lincoln conv. 368 cid engine runs too hot, the thermostat shown in the factory service manual is a two piece unit, with a rubber gasget fitted into the housing, we have not been able to find an OE type and are using a standard 160. Can anyone tell me... Login to read more.
