Hi Stephen,

Try the oil in the cylinder and see if that helps first.

This has all the markings of an oil pressure relief valve stuck, causing the oil pressure to get so high that it holds the valves open. (Hydraulic adjusters on these engines) Typical scen... Login to read more.
