Your post reminds me of several very good points.

Just meeting "warranty requirements" does not guarantee maximum life. VW of America endorses the use of Castrol Syntec 5W-40 in their VW 1.9 TDI but this oil apparently fails to meet some of the requirements ... Login to read more.
