Hi Ray, Have done lots of sohc headgaskets and three dohc [...] jobs. On both dohc jobs the head had to be machined (very lightly!)... On both dohc jobs after reassemling everything the lifters were very noisy,but quieting gradually as engine warmed up......in... Login to read more.
