GM had a PI on this a few years ago. It was never made into a bulletin, nor, AFAIK, was a "kit" ever officially released. They had a fix that involved wiring a C/H car (Bonneville) cooling fan relay in so that the fans came on in stages rather than both coming... Login to read more.
