Sounds like you may be picking up some ac voltage some where. Try to move the harness away form the ignition system. Is it a 2.3 or 3.1? I have seen the 2.3's arching from balancers to timing covers, or vise-versa, that may be a different discussion. Alternato... Login to read more.
