I have a 1988 volkswagen Fox that shows 12volts, flat diode pattern, and -5amps at idle. When I rev the engine to 1500 it charges fine. I have been told by the local Volkswagen dealer that this is acceptable. When I induce load at idle it still does not charge... Login to read more.
