Daytime running light diodes

Looking at the wiring for daytime running lights on a '96 Chevy K1500 I see 2 diodes in series, forward biased. What effect does this have on current flow? I was thinking that they were there to limit or reduce current, but how would this be done with diodes? ... Login to read more.
