Started and stalled, choke closed. So is the choke pull-0ff diaphragm working? Sounds like this might be where the problem is. Diaphragm leaking, or vacuum supply line to diaphragm leaking(or o-ring on body of carb if it is mounted directly to carb). Login to read more.
