can timing chain / tensioner wear noise be intermittent?
This 5.4 has an intermittent tinny rattle from the front of the engine. The noise is loudest at the right side belt idler pulley mounting bolt. I originally thought it was the pulley, so replaced it and the noise was gone for about 4 engine starts, then it ret... Login to read more.
