Jumped timing is my first guess.

Put the crank pulley at #1 tdc (white mark on balancer I think, at the mark on the timing cover), then pull valve cover and see if cam gear marks line up (I think exhaust cam has mark at 3:00 and intake has mark at 9:00, and ... Login to read more.
