If the engine has O2 sensors and not air fuel ratio sensors. A misfire causes unburned fuel and unburned oxygen. The O2 sensor sees more oxygen and thinks it is lean. If it sees lean it tries to make it richer. O2 sensor never look at unburned fuel. Login to read more.
