Actually there is a way to do this.

There are 2 'diagnosis modes'

1) Engine Running 2) Engine Cranking

(Shame there isn't a diagnosis mode to which you can drive just on the ICE engine. Maybe there is, but I cannot find it. Was lucky enough to find this. ... Login to read more.
