Craig,I just got done with a 99 van 5.7 that sounded similar to yours ,no real proof of anything(po 308 and cylinders 6&8 low on compression) pulled intake and inside was a mess at least a 1/16" of carbon buildup and back of valves carboned up bad pulled heads... Login to read more.
