Just an update. Removed bank 1 camshaft and found it had a wiped bearing cap nearest to the front and progressive better bearings closer to the vvt sprocket. Pin looked ok. Not sure if this is THE problem. I wouldn't think that would affect timing at idle. Login to read more.
