Bad injector driver?
Hey Y'all. Got this Ram that misfires, occasionally stalls,
and sets P0205. Initially had replaced the injector which
hadn't fixed it. You need to drive it for about 10 minutes
for it to start acting up. The stalling wasn't noticed until
later and at lower speeds like coming to a stop or going
through a parking lot. Had scoped the both the volts and
amps and didn't notice anything wrong. This was at idle and
comparing to another cylinder. Setup the scope to watch
volts and amps while driving and didn't make it out of the
lot before running bad and stalling. Ran fine at idle.
Didn't fail until I accelerated a little and backed off to
coast through the lot. Watching the patterns, the injector
appears to be turned on at random and sometimes for a
considerable amount of time. Doesn't look like a wire
grounding as there isn't more random noise in the volt
trace. Doesn't look to be an open wire as when the volts go
low, the amps go high. So, like the title says, I think I've
got a bad driver and would like for you to either confirm
this or give other testing ideas. Currently planning on
sending the PCM to be tested but waiting on what I get here.
Screenshots and scope file to follow for those of you that
use a Snap-On scope. Thank you for your time.
