I used to maintain a fleet of 1993 F350 pickups, with 5.4L engines. If I vacuum filled one right after replacing a thermostat, the t-stat gasket would get sucked out of place and leak. Happened several times. If I waited an hour, it would not damage the gasket... Login to read more.
