Anyone know what years GM updated the 5.3 valve cover?

I have a friend with an 2011 Avalanche. He is asking about a smoke issue. I know GM updated the valve cover on 1 side. I just cant find the TSB and see if it applies to his vehicle. If you have the TSB number that would be great.
