This doesn't have chip style keys so I don't think that will be a problem. My biggest concern is that the VIN stored in the ECM won't match the car's VIN. Here in NY state the inspection machine scans the vehicles VIN barcode and stores that VIN then when the machine is plugged into the OBD port, it looks for that VIN in the computer. Nonmatching VINs are a big problem because the state assumes you plugged in a healthy car to try to pass a broken one. Sorry if my first post was unclear, but what I'm trying to find out is whether the VIN can be rewritten in the used ECM.
