Hey guys need a little help from the Subaru experts out there. Have this 05 Forester that came in with a shorted Evap Vent solenoid. Seems it fried the driver in the ECM. So the question is, can we replace the ECM with a used one and program the VIN to match the car? It's going to be important for the VIN to match when we plug the car into the state inspection machine. We have Subaru programming software, as well as Snapon, Autel and Launch scanners, so hoping between them we can make something work. If anyone has had a similar situation would really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance for taking time to read this and for your help.
