Interchange says 05-06 Silverado, Tahoe and Yukon along with 07 Silverado Classic for the 4.8L.

Not sure what is different on the earlier ones but you may hunt up cam/ckp waveforms for both and see if they match and then it might just be a matter of changing... Login to read more.
