I had an 86 Fiero 2.5L with a similar problem that took a while to nail down. Turns out the magnetic pick up in the distributor housing had a broken wire that made contact most of the time, but caused a mis-fire on accels. Don't know if the 6 cyl. has a simila... Login to read more.
