Zeb, almost all modern alternators utilize avalanche diodes to protect the vehicle electronics from damage/destruction, and electrical disruptions. In the past I believe those diodes would avalanche around 32 volts, but now I think it is around 22 volts. IOW a... Login to read more. ![]()
