I don't know about that year model, but in the 40-50 range, gm had a split rod, at the top and a pinch bolt, you took out the bolt, and pull down very carefully on the piston/rod, to clear the wrist pin and then slid it out, you could change the rod with out p... Login to read more. ![]()
