14 Audi Q7 water in Diesel fuel
Posted to Technical Discussion Forum on 5/21/2019 6 Replies

Hello Everyone, Need some input, I have a 2014 Q7 diesel that got some bad fuel, water in fuel. Car went about 1/2 block and stalled, customer tried to restart a few times but it would not start. Car was towed in and we drained the fuel tank, replace the fuel filter and cleared out the lines. Bleed the fuel system of air to get fuel in the filter and up to the injection pump and rails before starting.

So here's my question, Should I replace the high pressure pump? I worried about damage to the pump and the pump failing and putting metal through the fuel system. I have seen this we a Q7 I don't think water contamination is as bad as gasoline but I could be wrong. Thoughts anyone? Trying to find out what the dealer recommendation is with water contamination, hopefully my parts guy will get back to me tomorrow.
