Seems like a bad idea to me.

I can't speak for all makes of cars, but that USB port is usually tied into the Multi Media CAN system, and if that stuff doesn't go to sleep, maybe the parasitic draw would be a lot higher than just what the cell phone needs to ... Login to read more.
