Friction heat from a slipping belt? Heats up pulley transfers heat into the alt. Belt slippage caused by worn tensioner. Heard this in a clinic years ago. Have not seen effect alternators in big trucks but have seen it take out A/C clutches. As a general rule ... Login to read more. ![]()
