Good use of the First Look transducer
Posted to Technical Discussion Forum on 5/31/2018 26 Replies

Since we mostly work on "zombies" here in Lahaina, tearing into engines for mechanical faults is rarely done. And specific determination of the root mechanical fault is trivial. Uneven compression? = used engine; Blown head gasket? = used engine; horrible noise? = used engine......etc

That being said, I still love to read and follow along with the advancements in pressure and vacuum waveform analysis being done by many members here, even if buying the transducers for myself would be a waste of personal funds. Sometimes the waveform seems a little abstract without another known good for that exact engine, specifically on manifold vacuum.

I recently read a simple article in Motor that showed how straight-forward it can sometimes be.
