Wayne, good day. I don't think your meter is set on ohms. Touch the leads together and the meter should read around .7. The meter main rotary switch should have different ohm settings, such as 200, 2K, 200k, 2M, 20M etc. Set the meter to the lowest ohm setting... Login to read more.
