I have seen them that sludge the valve cover area so bad the breather system inhales oil. This is due to wrong oil and incorrect intervals. I have literally vacuumed sludge out of the engine trying to save it. Didn't work!! See MB TSB P-B-18.00/20 and T-B-18.0... Login to read more.
