Hi Charlie, Yes DOT 5.1 is Glycol (Diethylene Glycol - Ester) based and has properties similar to DOT 4 but with enhanced performance characteristics, however DOT 5 sold in Europe is not silicone based as it is in the USA. Login to read more.
