One thing I used to do on old Mazda's. We would adjust the valve to spec, (.008") then look and determine how much of a turn the adjustment screw took to get to ZERO LASH. It took 1/4 turn, so from then on, we would run the screw down to ZERO, then out 1/4 tur... Login to read more.
