Miles, I was confusing the 3.0 liter and the 3.8 liter. The CMP signal on the 3.8 liter is needed to start the initial coil synchronization, but is not needed for continued coil firing. The ICM will use the equally spaced 120 degree CKP pulses to continue both... Login to read more.
