A3 is not necessarily a "lower" spec than A5 (if that's even what you meant). An A3/B4 5w30 is a higher HTHS oil than an A5/B5 5w30. We just did an oil change on a GDI Optima here and used A3/B4 oil (that we had to order in...) Login to read more.
