I have seen this on Chrysler minivans, Ford Flex and VW Bug. Is the piston boot twisted? If not, I try and do what you did with a screw driver and see if I can slowly make the piston work itself closer to the rotor. If that doesnt work, it gets a caliper. Login to read more.
