Don't know about GM, but I have a mercedes bldc blower motor driver here, that unfortunately doesn't work for testing, but I can see that it has a boost converter to step up the voltage. The 6 mosfets that drive the motor are 2n0608. They have a max Vds of 55v... Login to read more.
