Mostly caused by a piece of fuzz caught in the MAF. Ask me how I know-Wife drives a 2004 Monterey since new. Also check that the air cleaner housing is assembled correctly. Dirt and fuzz can get past the air filter if the bottom of the housing is not together... Login to read more.
