Alcohol burns much more cleanly than gasoline, but does have less energy per gallon, thus the lower mileage and performance. Although, I have not truly seen a drop in performance on a Flex fuel vehicle. And, I do not know of any GDI vehicles that are flex fuel... Login to read more.
