Re: Knock noise with AC on, but not AC compressor

A couple things happen when the AC comp kicks in. The electrical load on the alternator increases, and depending upon the belt arrangement, the belt load on the alternator may increase. So yes, putting on the AC can cause the alt to make noise. Login to read more.
