Looks like a classic detonation/pre-ignition problem. Engine running hot, or too lean on those cylinders.

What is the octane requirement on that engine? Back in 1993, I'd bet it's higher than today's 87 octane. That old a car also may not like E-10 gasoline. Login to read more.
