For a 30 amp steady load I would use 8ga wire with a 40 amp fuse. Gives you enough cushion for a surge load but will blow easily if a short circuit happens. If it's just a 30 amp start up load you could get by with a 10ga wire and a 30 amp fuse but the 8ga wil... Login to read more.
