It depends if it was originally a 390hp hyd lifter (L-36), or a 425hp solid lifter (L-72). The 390hp used a Q-jet 7029215 carb. Disconnect the vac. adv., and then watch the timing, at returning idle. Is it a California car, (smog pump)? Login to read more.
