I've come across many split-prone intake & plenum gaskets over the years [5.0 Fords from the 80's & 90's come to mind] and my fix was to glue one side of the gasket to one of the pieces with some 3M super weatherstrip adhesive. Makes removing the gaske... Login to read more.
