In the EBCM check the PID that shows the voltage sweep (0 to 5 volts). Like other 5 volt signals, the range is usually something like 0.2 to 4.8 volts. If the EBCM sees over 4.8 volts or below 0.2 volts, then it will set a circuit code for open/short.
