It wasn't until 1970 that GTO's received 12 bolt rear ends from the factory.

I'm guessing you have a 12 bolt form a Chevy, I'll track some codes down for 'ya today.

Olds 12 bolts were also swapped, but supposedly not as good as the stock 10 bolt. Login to read more.
