Is this TBI? Sounds like pick-up coil, maybe? I would check signal out of dist. Purple white wire, I think. I have not touched those in a long time. And maybe take the cap off and check pick up coil output. @ cranking speed I usually look for at least 5V peak ... Login to read more.
